How you’ll spend your day

• Design and build core backend services powering a next-gen agentic commerce platform
• Improve performance and reliability across APIs, distributed systems, and infrastructure
• Collaborate with product teams to translate business needs into technical solutions
• Write clean, tested, and maintainable code and Infrastructure as Code
• Lead code reviews, contribute to documentation, and ensure systems are resilient and well-tested
• Join the on-call rota to help resolve critical incidents when needed

What you’ll bring to this role

• 5+ years building scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems and APIs
• Strong skills in system design, optimisation, and operating system fundamentals
• Advanced programming ability in Golang, Rust, Python, Java or TypeScript
• Hands-on experience with IaC tools like Terraform, AWS CDK, or Pulumi
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control best practices
• Bonus: experience with Stripe or billing systems, Kubernetes, or streaming/data tools like Kafka
